gelert
Hi, I have what I believe to be a Honda TL180 in bits, does anybody know anything about these bikes in their original condition? I want to restore the bike but am struggling to find information/pictures about the bike. When did Honda produce the TL180's? Is the TL180 engine anything to do with the XL185 engine? Would appreciate any feedback or pics. Thanks

gelert
Thanks, will get photos. Noticed engine is stamped 180 would this be from another bike?
tlrmark
Yes sounds like a xl185 engine (180cc) in a TL125 frame. Honda never sold anything like a TL180. I have done 3 of these engine swaps myself over the years. Although I always used the xr200 engine into the TL125 frame.
tltel
Hi gelert as already said, sounds like an XL185. what does the number say on the crankcase down by the gear change shaft. I did have an engine that was bored out to 180 years ago (still got the bottom end) but you had to resleeve a 124 barrel and machine the cases to make it fit. you could see the machining as it cut through an oil way in the case. hope that helps. gelert
Thanks mystery solved! It appears to be a XL185 engine in a TL125 frame. Can't seem to post photo's.
