althespanner
bike looks like 1995 not 1994,is fitted with 1996 crankcases which where water "cooled" but were a disaster because they heated the engine to a point where the main bearings used to lose their nip in the cases and started to spin. The modification was to remove the water cooling pipes and blank off the base of the cylinder barrel with a stainless shim gasket and blank off the water return ,this is the tapped hole on the bottom of the crankcase which is the hole you're pointing at.this is usually blanked off with a m10 allen screw which is missing.
lineaway
Althespanner is correct. The worse thing was most cases corroded very badly. That could be quite the nightmare.
t-shock 250
*bought* Al is correct, as I had the same issue back in'95 which Al sorted for me.
lambretta_ash
brought bought .. you understood it that's good to know that I can just blank it off, this has a few 90degree connectors so must have been done years ago. this is road reg'ed as a 94' but the decals have 95 so I did think it was miss printed on the v5 but I haven't a clue on these yet but the insurance is going to love this as its not going to be a listed bike (price up) thanks for info will pass it on
