wiltshire_boy
Convinced myself that i needed a twin shock "project" and picked up a 1984 Montesa 242 in reasonable shape. It seems to be nearly all original but the airbox to carb rubber is split and the silencer (tail pipe) is missing. From what i've seen these seem to be a very narrow "pea shooter" type. Does anyone know if they are available or what a suitable replacement might be please? New, used, broken, i'm not fussy. I've yet to start it up but have had a nosey in the gearbox side (which was oilless!) and the selector shaft seems to have been repaired at some point. Is this a Monty weakness? Any other tips, hints, opinions and disparaging remarks are invited. Roy.
scorpa3
See if you can contact Jon Bliss from Cheltenham, he does a smashing little four stroke engine. Might work out cheaper in the long run. Would almost certainly make a nicer bike.
