wacky
I have a TY250 Mono fitted with 'Shirt/Grimeca' front disc conversion. Does anyone know what the individual componants are from? Looking to replace the pads and probably the disc but need some guidance on getting the bits. And Yes, I know the brake is worse than the drum but thats what I am stuck with. andy m
A decent bike shop should be able to match the pads if you take a pattern in to them , I think EBC have a pattern book. Not sure about the disc.
60north
hi wacky, the wheel, disc and caliper are taken from the fantic 243. i use ebc fa099 pads, dimensions are 31.5 x 52 x 5.5mm. goldfren 120 pads is another i have used in the past. if you fit a fantic disc the mounting holes will have to be countersunk to allow clearance for the shirty bracket, i fitted a new/old stock disc last year and found no improvment in braking, hope this helps
mattylad
Fitting a later 4 pot caliper is the solution

lineaway
I put a yz 125 (1984) front wheel with disc and used the yz master cylinder. Worked excellent and was cheap. Just had an aluminum adapter made that clamped on the front fork. More stopping power than the new 4 pots.
