craige
Long story cut short... I bought a lovely shiny Bultaco about 10yrs ago. Been in the shed most of its life but now thinking of getting it registered for the road, it's an age thing!! I have the original green log book and an MOT from 2001 to 2002 the green log book states that the engine number M4904576 and I can read it on the engine. The frame has been powder coated so I can't read the frame number, but all the documents (old green log book) say that it's chassis frame or car No is SM145 and it says the same on the MOT I have. Do I have to sand the frame back to check that this is genuine before I can apply for V5 or is SM145 on the docs a true frame number as I can't find any reference to this other than on the docs. Please help. Thanks
noel063
A Sammy Millar frame perhaps. Someone will know on the forum.
sparks2
HiYes, SM145 is good for a Sammy Miller frame number. It should be originally chrome or nickel plated, though this may have been overpainted by now.A Sammy Miller frame was a top quality after market frame bought to 'improve' a standard Bultaco. Most would consider it a good 'find'RegardsSparks Edited April 27, 2014 by sparks2
