devo8
How does the power delivery of the Jotagas compare to the other manufacture bikes, I have a Sherco 290 2012 , any feed back welcome.
jeff2012
Personally i find the 2013 Jotagas 250cc very smooth power delivery compared to other bikes i have tried. My friends 300cc is also smooth. Very easy to control & forgiving for Novice riders such as myself.
ilovetrials
A recent review in a spanish magazine, compared the power of the jotagas 300, the Gas Gas 300 and the Sherco ST 300. All ´14 models. Sherco 300 being the tamest and gas gas being most powerful. They placed the JTG 300 right in the middle of them... I had a sherco 300 and changed to a Jgas 300 and let me tell you, power wise, I couldnt feel any difference...both very similar... you could feel the weight difference when doing rear or front hops though...! JTG Easier to move all the time....! Edited May 18, 2014 by ilovetrials
devo8
Thanks for the feedback, what is power delivery like ? The reason I ask is that I rode a Beta 300 2014 at the weekend and the delivery was so smooth and never out of your hands , whereas on the Sherco the delivery can be brutal
gasgas249uk
Devo , its interesting you thought that . If you look here http://www.retrotrials.com/the-jotagas-diary but look for the posting on 01/30/2014 The rider actually ended up with a Sherco but whats ridden is exactly how the day panned out and he thought the delivery was to sharp and came in to quick. He reconned another bike was entirely different and that's how he ended up with a Sherco

I think Steve's getting some in next week. Dont know about Johns delivery You need to grab a test ride . What's good for me might not be good for you. For example I occasionally ride a freekin Merlin
ilovetrials
Off the record, If this helps, one reason I changed from sherco to JTG was that the sherco carburation was impossible for me to dial... with that fuel pump is impossible for me to tune the keihin carb it comes with.... when going downhill that bike tends to quit or to lower the engine idle.... you have to test yourself both bikes to see what I mean... devo8
Ilovetrials, how does the power delivery compare from your Sherco to the Jotagas i.e. on my Sherco the delivery is sharp and comes in quick" , as I said I rode 2014 beta 300 the weekend and that was really smooth throughout the range and was never out of your hands. telecat
The Standard JTG works pretty well with a measured delivery of power. My Son has a 300 with a Keihin that is rather rapid on pickup so you can change it to your requirements. He did try a 300 Sherco and as he put it it delivered the power but a bit far up the rev band for him. He wanted the power to come in and keep delivering. The Sherco was a bit laggy. It had the power but it arrived a bit late.
