sms005
Hello all, I have an '07 2.9 that has some engine noise. Upon disassembly and inspection I learned the cylinder and piston are gouged up pretty good on the intake side. Eventually I'd like to send it out for re sleevin/plating, but in the meantime I have an opportunity to buy an '08 2.5 cylinder/piston/rings/clips for a decent price. This would minimize the downtime My question is would it be a direct swap out or is there more to it than I'm imagining. I assume I'll need a different base gasket. Will the exhaust match up to the 2.5? Will re jetting be required? Will the 2.9 ignition work for the 2.5? Anything else I'm missing? Thanks in advance... copemech
Everything should swap out directly with no changes, however the head is a different part number as I recall.

It actually comes with a head too so I'd be good to go!
copemech
You may ck and verify with Splatshop Chris, but looks as though you may need to go with the narrow base gasket, and prolly use two of them for simplicity for the 250 cyl install. http://www.splatshop.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=sherco+250+cylinder
