3 sheds
Hi folks, just looking for a bit of advise. I've just got a Rev3 250 2008 and now realized that it needs a bit of fixing. The chain tensioner pivot bolt has been glued in to the swinging arm because the thread is stripped. I'm going to heli-coil this - has anyone done this and had any issues or found a better way to repair? It also needs a new set of chain and sprockets but I can't seem to find out what the standard setup should be. I'm an absolute beginner so I now have the opportunity to get the best for what would suit me even if that isn't standard - looking for some advice please. I've also noticed the side stand is lose and I'm expecting to find a problem with those fixings too. I've not had a close look at them as I'd had enough bad news (with the chain tensioner) for one evening. Is there a known problem with the side stand? Thanks for your help, Phil
dadof2
Helicoil or timesert works fine. On 2007s the stand bolts easily work loose. Its some time since I did one but I think I had to straighten the stand bracket and loctite studs in then use nuts It was OK after that
lineaway
Stock gearing was probably 11-42. I usually ran a 10 tooth countershaft, because I rode in second the most.
