heffergm
I'm getting frustrated with boots... I've been riding in my motocross boots (Gaerne SG10's) which are great boots, and they don't really bother me much to ride trials in, but obviously walking around they aren't fantastic, as they weight about 5000 pounds each. So I ordered a pair of Sidi Trial Zero boots. They ended up being big, so I sent them back, and as I'd had better luck with Alpinestars in the past, I ordered some No Stops. They're the right size as far as length goes, but they're awfully tight on the top of the foot and the ankle... they remind me of the ice skates I hated to wear as a kid. How much are these going to loosen up? Because for the money, I really need them to be perfect, and these aren't. I was also more impressed with the Sidi look, buckles and sole, so I may have to send these back as well and try a smaller size in the Sidi and cross my fingers. Or there's always the Gaerne Oiled I guess...
huski
Whether they would loosen up enough is hard to answer but would have only second hand value if they don't . I would send them back and go to a dealer that stocks many brands and get the boots that suit you best Out of the box the Gaernes and Forma are the most comfortable but the wrong size through mail order might be cheaper but you'll never be happy with them
heffergm
There isn't a deal within 100 miles of me that stock a wide selection of trials anything. So I mail order from a place with no cost returns.
stannergas
Think you've already sussed this one, you maybe just havn't realised it! - I've had loads of Gaerne boots over the years and enough bad experiences with others to know that you just can't beat 'em. They always feel perfect right from the start for me - strong, flexible, comfortable, light. Without a doubt, go Gaerne Oiled Trials boots of the right size and you won't regret it! End of.

baldilocks
You have to try boots on before you buy really. Lots of people like Gaernes but I cant wear them, last pair took the skin off my ankle. Alpinestars I found really comfy but didn't last long. I like the sidi boots best.
smalley250
Ive had Sidi Zero`s 3 pair and now use Alpinestars. The Sidi were shorter and siffer than the Alpinestars to which will soften up almost slipper comfort. The Sidi didnt protect my shin well and have a nice scar to prove from foot peg, plus they felt to me like your feet were in concrete blocks. The Sidi zero was a favorite with my mates and were all using Alpinestars so thats our choice I cant comment on other boots but any new boot will be stiff and need wearing in
