coulda_dun_better
So I finally sold my 4rt abd bought a sherco!! So are there any hints and tips with regards to maintenance or quick mods that may not have been done?? Also what mixture do you run the fuel on? Thanks in advance
zerorev3rev4
i think the lack of response means that most folk are in shock that you have gone from a 4rt to a sherco , 70 to 1 should be fine , and check the bike fully after every ride for fallen off or broken parts
dadof2
Handbook says 50:1 fuel:oil ratio On any secondhand bike I would strip and grease every bearing. Even wheel bearings can be cleaned out and greased by prising the seal out with a watchmakers screwdriver. Clean the bearing (still in wheel) with your fuel, let it dry, put new grease in then press the seal back in. Change all the hydraulic fluids and preferably strip, clean and flush out all the hydraulic parts. Quite a few Sherco hydraulics have been found to contain metal debris or have sharp edges on the holes in the cylinders which chew up seals. Where any hole enters the bores polish any sharp edges off very carefully with fine or medium steel wool. Other than above its typical servicing. taffe
Hi, what I did when needing info was to search back through the wealth of info in back posts on this forum [and others]. I got a much more varied list of comments and ideas. I printed many of these and put them in a folder for later reference. Cheers Taff
