Front Fork 2008 Gas Gas Pro Paiolli?

I got a 2008 gg pro 300, with a paioli front fork in it. But according to my knowledge a Marzocchi fork should be in it. I cant find any information on the fork.

On top it says Paioli R&D estension, and on the other one spring preload.

Anyone knows what fork this is?

attached a photo from when it was new

Look at the tripple tree, which is an older type.

My 05 does not even have that, older 2003 did.

on this rookie its also http://www.gasgasmuseum.com/bikes/images/2007/2007Rookie.jpg

I think it was a 2007/2008 overdated bike. (on the 2007 its states on airbox pro 07, this one not)

Sure it was not an Econo model. Those were the clamps used on the 38mm forks.

Yeah, its different and I think econo model is new frame (tubes)? But its a real 300, and does not have other features different. Also i think the eco uses sachs front and rear suspension.

The forks are 38mm, strange thing the upper clamps are the normal ones.

It was a demo model or so (price was cheap in 2008). Maybe they needed a fork for some client and swapt it. I askes gg usa, maybe a workers strike and some bikes came with different forks. (unfortunatly crapier forks)

I seem to remember there was a stretch where GasGas was having a problem with Marzocci. Political or financial I don't remember but there was an issue that caused a shortage that slowed production. Perhaps you got an oddball proto bike.

I also don't remember ever seeing the logo on the top of the slider on a Beta.

  • 2 months later...

phone them up then

Unfortunatly the dutch importer is bankrupt for some years now.

Some update:

I found some possible explanation on this forum: http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/19871-gas-gas-marzocchi/

I put the reiger adjusted (# 1040: Gas Gas Trial, 2005 4.4 Lk 120mm rider weight 80-85 kg) 2005 forks in now, which are much much stiffer and feel way better than the 38mm forks. I will also add a reiger stronger spring on the back and will than adjust settings.

I am actually a bit stuck at removing the clamp. I got the upper one off, the lock ring, a plastick cap, some spacer, than there is the upper bearing, but there is no thing to grip on. The axle is treaded, and so i have to turn the ''ring'' which is on the inside of the bearing off right? how?

While i am asking, somebody know if there are small plates on the market to fit the old steering lock place?

/ think I had a little bit of a brain fart lol, looked at pictures of the bearings and there is no treaded ring, its like

https://www.google.nl/search?q=head+bearings+gas+gas&espv=2&biw=1280&bih=933&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=xIQkVKKKMsPXauKngogD&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ#imgdii=_

Quess its stuck in by grease, because even a bit of hammering with plastick hammer didn't do anything.
