gasgas694
Hi, i have just purchased the untouchable 19mm chain to lock my 2012 gas gas, but it will only fit through the wheels not the frame so i am just after some advice how you lock your bikes up and what chain devices you use please
djdenzil
First invest in a good ground anchor. I have two chains, remove tank and place first chain through frame and anchor. Secondly, remove rear wheel and chain front/rear wheel through anchor chain as well. If your bike is insured, check the T&C's, only Gold Standard chains are acceptable otherwise they wont pay out!! technowaldo
Chains are good but the cheapest 4 inch cordless angle grinder cuts through the most expensive.chain money can buy like butter. I always think your better spending your money on beefing up your.shed or garage security to keep scum from entering the building in the first place
crazybond700
More = Better So if you have a crappy door to a shed, make it better. More locks. On the inside maybe some defence, which they cant see from the outside. This might scare them off if they get in.Everything that costs time will help a little. thats_a_five
Check the thread above under "Stolen Bikes" Lots of good input there on securing your bike.
section_1_ssdt_pre75
Are there any chains that an angle grinder will not cut? Access to my bikes is through solid fire doors all outward opening - this stops the 'ram effect' Also my first door is set back from the face of the building which hopefully makes the 'crow barring' a bit harder. 30 yrs service in the fire brigade taught me this deterrant! When placing ground anchors, dovetail shape the hole, and then fill with molten lead for an instant fix.
gasgas694
dose anyone have the Pragmasis protector and torc ground anchor? is it worth spending £269 on this setup? its rated ATVs/QUAD Gold, Automotive Gold, Bicycle Gold, Caravan/Trailer Gold, Vehicles Gold, Motor Scooters Gold, Motorcycle Gold
sawtooth
It'll take an age and a lot of noise to grind through a decent chain, they are hardened. If you've ever tried filing some hardened steel then you'll know why the grinder will also find it difficult.
