trialtrial
How do I remove the swing arm without removing the engine? I have every off of it (wheel, brake, chain tensioner, guide), and I undid the two large torx bolts on either side of the swing arm, but the swing arm does not want to pull out. thanks! trialtrial
Lotus54 (Mark) gave me the info: Remove the top shock boltJust inboard of about the foot pegs, look for a circlip on each side ( look under the brake pedal, forward of pegs) That holds the main pin in.Drive that pin out, either side. I'd use a brass drift since it is aluminum.Remove the two large Allen bolts (directly above that pin)You don't even have to remove the chain.Remove the rear brake master cylinder.Slide the swingarm, linkage and damper out as one piece. Then You can service all the linkage. I use a silicone grease with Teflon. I'd recommend doing it fairly often if you ride in the water/mud.
