yerpal
Always fancied trials riding as far back as kickstart with Peter Purvis but never actually tried it. At 54 (now 57) I might be starting late but if I don't do anything too crazy I should be okay. Question is where do I ride in or near Birmingham and is there a local club? UPDATE: ive bought a Beta 250 (see pic) Edited February 21, 2017 by yerpal Update

suzuki250
Earl Shilton club is worth joining, they have their own land so you can practice there any time you like
toetoe
Hi, I am 52 and i have just started, i didn't know if i would take to it so i decided to buy a second hand bike first, for £650 i got a 1999 sherco 250, boots, helmet, gloves and bike rack, although the bike is around 14 years old it is still a great bike to learn on and now i'm looking for a more modern machine, my friend who i ride with rides a TY 250 twin shock and he can do more on his bike than i can on mine so don't worry about the ability of the bike, it's experience that counts so what ever you choose to start with will be more than capable, im from burton on trent and i ride at earl shilton every sunday and one day in the week but on the sunday their is always plenty of people their who will be more than happy to help you out with setting your bike up and get you started, good luck i'm sure you will enjoy it.
petorius
Good day Yerpal, I am not too far behind you in years and just starting too. I have a 200 Gas Gas which I have not ridden yet and looking to get some practice in now I finally have some time. It would be nice to have someone to ride with. I am based between Stratford and Warwick. The only places I know to get some practice are near Bewdley and Earl Shilton.
yerpal
Belated thanks guys. Unfortunately I screwed my back up pretty badly, that and the financial fallout that followed has been a life changer for a self employed carpenter but I'm up and able again and want to pick up where I left off (yes before I'd even started!) I found the place near Kiddy it looked great, I need to look up Earl Shilton Get bike out of storage and fire it up, swap oil and fuel and get myself a lot fitter so need to start really steady but I'd rather wobble around on a motorbike that sit in a gym. No offence Gym... Edited February 21, 2017 by yerpal added pic

yerpal
So much for the early night... Earl Shilton looks amazing but it's a lot further so unless there's anything else between Birmingham and Coventry then I'll set the farm near Kiddy as my home ground is there a club associated with the place? Apologies in advance if I ask the questions you've answered a hundred times but nudge me in the direction of a previous-post, my current knowledge/skill gauge is empty (or numpty) Edited February 21, 2017 by yerpal
