dadof2 Posted August 13, 2014 Report Share Posted August 13, 2014 Have you checked the squish clearance when refitting cylinder head? Crank rebuild - did this include new connecting rod? Leak test, You need to blank off inlet with blanking plate / bung. Leave the reeds in but prop them open. Fit a blanking plate to exhaust outlet on barrel with tyre valve in it and pressurise engine to between 5 and 10 PSI and see if it drops over a few minutes period. Crank rebuild - did this include new connecting rod? cheers dad at wotk at min but wen i get bk ill recheck squish and yes new rod ill be honest wen i rebuilt engine and started it i mistaken the pinging for piston slap as i didnt know anything about detonation so i rang gas gas up they said keep ading base gaskets which altered the port timining is this the reason for it overheating what happens wen u raise cylinder cheers again Leak test, You need to blank off inlet with blanking plate / bung.
