l05tb0y
HI all, my fan isn't kicking in on my 2009 Beta Evo so I think I need a new thermostat. Can I just take the surclip off and pull the thermo or do I have to flush the coolant first. ps. The fan works as I've wired the sensor wires together to test and the fan works. vonhazza
With the position of the switch I think you would be ok to just pull the thermostat without draining the system, but have a rag or something handy to block the hole in case you do start to lose coolant and if you are sure its the switch that is faulty have the new one ready to put back in that way you will only loose a dribble of coolant at most. Of course if you are due for a coolant change it would be a good time to do it. Steve,
copemech
Obvious you will loose what coolant is above the level of the switch! Not wise to mix coolant types, so if you are unsure what is in it, drain and flush the system and start over with mix of choice. There are several available. Ten stick with a good brand. l05tb0y
Thanks for the replies but I just took it to Off Road Moto near me and they sorted it for me.
