wobbler
I would swap you a front wheel with a disc on it - along with a brake / calliper & reservoir etc. If you want to return it to standard spec. Bob Wright motorcycles for your parts ...... Cheers The Wobbler
jonny13
Hi wobbler it's always had drums I snapped the bottom of the fork and need a replacement leg it's a 1985 301 proto 266 I think ,what other model will fit. Thanks
wobbler
Can you post a picture if where it's damaged? And when new I'm sure they all had a front disc and rear drum. You'll see there are 2 lugs on the left hand fork leg for the calliper - you have a brake stay into one of them !! Cheers As always t The Wobbler !!!! jonny13
It was made with a front drum some other member showed me pictures,it's on my past posts, the pic that was shown was a 301 1985 proto it's identical , what I did was take the wheel off and doing so hit the axle pin out with out undo the the clamp bolts snapped it right off wot a tit ,I need another set of forks to fit they were both shot any way, do all drum front forks fit from all fantics. steve fracy
jonny13 where are you from? The only 301's I know of that had drum front brakes, were "kit" bikes that were assembled in the US by the importer. it was a 301 frame and all the goodies with a 300 twinshock motor in it. good bike
wobbler
Jonny - my thoughts were the same as steve - unless you've got an early "works" bike !!!! All the stock 201/241 & 301's had a front disc . I think all of the fork legs are the same - so either a twin shock or mono shock would fit. The only reason I offered to swap was that I have a twinshock with a disc wheel put in it and I'll need to put it back to a drum for competition. You could get the leg alloy welded - I've seen some positive posts on the site about it. Cheers The Wobbler
wobbler
Try Richard allen for a replacement leg - he'll have a few as it's usually the sliders that are rusted !!
