breagh
Why I have this bike I don't know because when I had one back in the day it nearly finished me with trials. However, that's a side issue, the bike runs fine but it runs weak downhill and rich uphill. No much but enough as catch you out. All Fantics I've ever owned have been prone to this (just 249s) and I've fiddled with float levels till the inlet rubbers gave up. This one isn't far off so I wont be touching it unless someone can say this is what you have to do and it works. Thanks in advance for any replies.. axulsuv
You've got to show us the bike !!! I'm still waiting to actually use my section , not just fart about in the yard !!! Glenn
breagh
I don't photograph them I just ride them. Rode a trial yesterday on it and that's what minded me of it's wee problem. I only ride it about once a month as I try to vary it between my Scorpa and a banger of a 340 Bultaco that died a couple of weeks back. The bike has an old Beta front end with USD forks so it looks odd,if I can find a friend to post a photo I will. Might be one of it on the Wobblers or East Scotland trials site, but you'll have to trawl a bit.
2stroke4stroke
You really are a glutton for punishment Allan. Or are you just trying to mask your considerable riding ability.
breagh
As you know I only ride club trials so it doesn't really matter what you ride because most could be won on Bob McGregors Rudge. Don't tell anyone though because it will kill new bike sales. Thing is I get bored, last two trials I borrowed an rl Suzuki and and old ty to finish the course. Can't say they made much difference. Any theories about this fantic?
axulsuv
I've never experienced what you describe , or heard of it ... Position of the pilot jet in the carb body ??? not a clue really , but I have heard that the later fantics were quite finicky on there jetting . I haven't had the opportunity to actually use my 97 yet , but in the yard she appears to run sweet . Glenn
lineaway
That is what was wrong with the early `95`s and they came out with a new manifold under warranty. Know the history or someone that you could check manifolds?
breagh
Very interesting, you're probably the only one that knows that I'll investigate further. Many thanks..
lineaway
I was a Fantic dealer and had to replace about 5 of them. In Fact at our first USA National in`95. The Fantics were all getting manifolds and the Gassers were getting complete fork seal holders with a new size seal. It was entertaining watching the warranties take place at an event. Long lines at both camps! Edited September 10, 2014 by lineaway

Cool, I was a Fantic dealer too, unfortunately it was 1972 which meant we sold Broncco minibikes....or well,us kids rode the inventory to death while dad was out of town so we only managed to sell 2 or 3...
