cabby
I'm considering buying a new jotagas, however, I'm a bit concerned about their parts back up. Simple things like bolts and screws, graphics, etc, you know consumables. I have no knowledge of whether it's good or bad, so can anyone tell me how this is ?? Been riding shercos for the last few years and the back up from splatshop is fantastic.
gizza5
Did you use a lot of Bolts and screws on your Sherco? If they are dropping off then more time in the garage required to give you bike a thorough going over with the spanners Consumables would be available at most trials dealers.
cabby
haha, guess I asked for that. Ok I meant jotagas specific parts.
gasgas249uk
Hi Dbf , The parts back up is very good. Steve Saunders the UK importer has pretty much everything in stock ready to send out . R Sprockets are the same as GG . Bolts are bearings generic standard items. Saunders has decals. To be honest you went need much anyway. They are very reliable bikes.
dadof2
Try to ride one for a days trial before buying. I know of some riders who find the lower shock mount / linkage bolt rubs on their heel and causes soreness and boot wear.
the dabster
Like you I am very keen on the Jotagas, the build quality looks top class and I have heard from someone who is a very good rider that has tried one and thought it was the dogs bollocks. I have spoken to steve saunders about this and other issues and he assured me he has spares. For what it's worth he strikes me as a genuine bloke! I'm keen. peterh
Even downunder in Oz there is good support and spares. A great bike, very forgiving and confidence building.

I know of some riders who find the lower shock mount / linkage bolt rubs on their heel and causes soreness and boot wear. This has never happened to me. It depends on your riding style but I think this soreness and boot wear is very unusual. He must be pinching the bike with his ankles. dadof2
I only know two riders well who have or have had Jotagas's and both have had this problem. One is a novice and the other occasionally wins club trials. It could be down to riding style. I used to wear the inside of my boot heel on my JTR Gasser. It was the bolt and bracket for the side-stand that was the problem. Maybe depends if you ride on your insteps as I do, or on the balls of your feet. cabby
My decision is made up, I just need to decide between a 250 or a 300.
telecat
We did test Steve's parts ability a few times and it was not found wanting. Most of the parts are generic anyway. Results wise Chris is doing pretty well on the bike.
telecat
Also I did get Chris's Kehin from Splatshop and they were assisting Richard Timperley.
