lewis315r
H & D Racing rear linkage upgrade! Super simple bit of kit and really improves the way the bike rides!!
tom675
Yep lewis I agree, rear end feels fine as I have those fitted, its the front that feels numb, may just be suspension settings, need to find a rough guide for setup

barnesy
what year is the bike? they got better every year. Albea motors sell a racing kit which should have everything you need, they may not ship to UK but you should be able to source most things over here... http://www.albeamotors.com/catalog/montesa-cota-315r-74094 Ta B

Stock bike apart from newer twin pot front caliper, h&d dog links and 2004 plastics

tail
Most knocking is the bottom of the piston slapping against the bottom of the sleeve, because they have 3 rings it holds the top of the piston but the bottom does tend to slap Sandifords do the piston and all gaskets for £
chuck4788
For a starting place on the Showa forks turn the clickers full out (CCW). Also a PO may have put the wrong oil in the forks, or too much. The oil for the right leg should be cartridge fork oil, a very thin oil. Showa SS05 or Honda SS05 fork fluid or similar. No cartridge in the left leg so the oil just lubes the bushings. The level in both legs determines the resistance to bottoming, standard level is 39mm from the top with the fork fully compressed. The Owner's Manual covers all of the above.
