dannyb
I've got a few small dents on my headpipe ('14 evo 300 2t) now, what's best/easiest way to get them out ? Short of buying a new obviously! Can you bung the ends and blow them out like a motocross pipe with heat? Or do the fill with water and let freezing action pop them out like you would a 4stroke header?
dadof2
If you don't mind discolouration the motocross method usually works OK, never tried the other on a tapered 2t pipe. There are two other rather specialised methods I know of that can be used on some dents. One is to hydraulically pressurise the pipe then carefully pein round the dent as it eases out. The other is to make up an insertable hydraulic jack using brake pipe, brake fittings and a grease gun.
totalshell
what do you bung the end of the pipe with during the freezing process that expands less than the steel of the pipe..cos that ll be some force..
