Are there different swing arms for the 247. the one on mine doesnt be able to fit the large chain guard there are no mounting points for it near the shock mount and the swing arm doesnt seem to be long enough to cater for the chain guard. do twinshock bikes have to have a shark style chain guard on the underside of the rear sprocket to conform woth ACU rules? kingscorpion Posted October 5, 2014 Report Share Posted October 5, 2014 There were seven different swingarms for the 247 along the years, but only two chainguards: the fiberglass one from 21M0001 to 21M4381, and the plastic one from 21M4382 till the end of its production. cleanorbust Posted October 5, 2014 Report Share Posted October 5, 2014 My 1979 247c runs on 9 tooth front/40 tooth rear sprockets which gives good ability to cope with a general mix of sections and allows second gear to be used as a realistic option. kingscorpion Posted October 6, 2014 Report Share Posted October 6, 2014 My MkI goes with the standard rear sprocket and a 9 teeth front one. 10 is unusable for serious trials.
