348mate
Can any of the experts help me to get the correct air pressure in my air forks? I find that they are very hard to check as the mere action of sticking my pressure gauge on to the valves usually lets all the air out, i know very little air is needed to produce pressure in the forks, but there must be a foolproof way to do this surely???? cheers, S.M. 4rtbulldog
I have had the same problem when I used my RTL 250S '88 model, it made me not happy to have ride with air forks, replaced with thicker spring spacer and a bit higher viscosity fork oil, pressure gauge is only for air bleeding. g4321
Use a pushbike pump to add air to the forks (bicycle pump for those heathens South of the border) - minimises risk of blowing seals. Then use a gauge to lower the pressure to the required setting. There are proper pumps made just for suspension - S&W used to make one.
