renegade master
Hi Guys, Just before I go to buy new chain and sprockets for my 03' gas gas I was just wondering whats the norm set up everybody is using? or does it vray drastically, I have a 10T/43T atm, so thinking of going down to a 9T on the front anyway! not sure about back sprocket yet........ basically I am after lower torque as I think this will be better of finding traction on steep hill climbs? Any ideas??? Cheers, Colin.
baldilocks
What cc is the bike ? GG dont recommend 9t front with a 520 chain as that's quite a small circle to bend the chain round. You can go bigger on the back and get the same effect. I run 11/42 on my 280 lots of people run 10/42 if you like it a bit slower or prefer to use second more Edited October 24, 2014 by baldilocks
renegade master
bike is 250cc, I am not really wanting to make the bike slower but rather make it better for grip! if that makes any sence
baldilocks
I dont think that will work then its more about throttle control and riding stance
guys
10/42 on my 280 was slow enough for me and traction couldn't be better i.m.o. If you go too slow you might lose traction and throttle control as it becomes too jerky at very low speeds.
biffsgasgas
Im rocking the 11/42 on my raga but considering 10/42 for the same reason. --Biff
