elliotsdaddy
Hello all. Apologies if this has already been answered somewhere else in this forum, but on average how long can you be out on a tank of fuel? And how long can you ride on the 'reserve'? I've got a 290 (2007) and i'm always a bit nervous about being out too long incase I run out of fuel. I keep having a peek at the level but really that is of no use to me. I know it all depends on how you ride, and yes, I could take out extra fuel with me, but I guess that's what the reserve on the tank is for. Not after anything exact, I would just like to get an idea. Many thanks, Chris.
dadof2
Take some spare fuel with you and ride as you normally do until you run out, then you know how long you can run on a full tank and reserve on that kind of riding. Typically a tank will give about 2 continuous typical trials practice with a further 20 minutes on reserve but as you already know it can vary widely. Trickling about on a few rocks and you can run near all afternoon, start doing long hills or boggy fell and you might not get near 2 hours.
