andilicious
Hi Just been going through the bike which should be a 2006 290, after its maiden voyage and the shock doesn't look standard. It's an Olle but with a gold annodised top mount and different preload adjuster and top spring seat. Anyone recognise it as a different year or know if it has been modded? copemech
The stock shocks on "06 were kinda crap, so this one is likely something that has been repaired. I might guess an Ohlins top! Yes, seems many parts interchange! You may send the pic to splatshop Chris and he may know more, yet as long as it works you are prolly ok for now! andilicious
Hi Cope. Everything works fine I was just curious that's all. Someone must of had it apart so I was wondering if there was a certain company that fitted Ohlins tops etc. I remove the spring and gave it a good cleaning and fitted it back in. I will need to replace the bearing on the bottom end soon but that's not a big problem. Cheers Andy
tony27
That looks more like a 05 or earlier shock to me, weren't the 06 shocks more like the later shocks with the bottom mount screwed to the body. Looks very similar to the original out of my Jarvis which is a Sachs apart from the gold top eye & blue spring keepers which I seem to remember being on an earlier model Edited November 3, 2014 by tony27
andilicious
In that case does anyone need an older model shock in exchange for a newer one?? Ha ha
