gordo
Hello, I have what I believe is a Saracen Trials Bike. This is a project bike I will be working on slowly. It is set up for a Sachs motor. It has the orange tank, and fortunately, it is in excellent condition. The frame has a lot of tarnished green build up. But underneath, and wherever there was tape, the nickle plating seems to be in good shape. Can anyone tell me what the frame numbers mean? Mine is 696055 Thank you, Gordon
ducman
Gordon, so you have a orange alloy tank, right? If so it is a model from the David Brand time andit has to fit a engine with the alloy barrel.Could be that it is bike 55. gordo
Thank you for the reply. My tank is fiberglass and my plan is to put a Sachs 12515A iron barrel in this bike. I have the same motor in a Penton Wassell and like it.
ducman
So if you have a fiberglass tank it is a early modely and the motor with the iron barrel is correct.Yeah the iron barral motor has better bottom end power.
gordo
Does the (69) in the frame number mean it is a 1969 model?
