mrturtle
Hello, I'm looking at getting a trials bike to keep up with my 6yr old on the oset 16! Tempted by an oset 20 for more riding area options and if anyone has any opinions or exp. on these please share!? but can't help thinking I could buy a decent (proper)bike for similar money..1500 ish, would I be better off with 125/200 as I've not had a trials bike since juniors ty 80/175 and not sure if a 250 or above would be too much power, have had mx and road bikes (lots) since ty's though . Any input appreciated. Thanks
toetoe
i would say a 200-250 would be fine, you are used to bikes so you have more than a lot of people who are just starting, you could even go back to a ty, a friend i ride with, rides a ty175 and i ride a gas gas txt 250 pro but i often back down from doing somethings that he does on his, also ty's keep their value so if you start off on one and want to change to a modern bike, later on, you should get your money back, that is if you can part with the ty after using it for a while. mrturtle
Well the oset 20 racing wasn't for me so sold that and now got a 250 Evo. Been on it twice a week for the last 4-5 weeks on some awesome land in the Lake District and riding with experienced trials riders it's great learning how to ride again, far more rewarding than I'd ever thought it would be, was going to enter a trial soon but having too much fun practising at the moment.only regret is I Should have bought one years ago!
