jj65
Can anyone recommend a durable fuel/oil resistant satin black engine paint please. I believe the previous owner used PJ1 paint, which hasnt gone hard and appears not to like fuel.
iconic558
my next project will be getting powder coated engine cases for sure, I just put a friend on to the powder coaters I used when I did my nut and bolt resto' on my TL125. He had some Magnesium engine covers and ali' brake parts coated in their chrome effect powder coat they use for road alloy wheels and the result is wonderful....not super cheap but very, very impressive indeed. We used these guys if its any help to you. enrico
I have used Barbeque paint in rattle cans with some success. The product I used was by Rustoleum (just google them) but that was a matt black finish. Numerous outlets including Amazon /ebay etc. Hammerite do a similar product in Satin black and at that price worth a try? Again just search for Hammerite BBQ paint... I definitely agree on the Plastikote barbeque paint, I use it on barrels and heads and cure it in the kitchen oven. The cheapest place I've found to buy it in the UK is Wilkinsons, though they are now doing their own brand.
