jer
I have difficulty adjusting the clutch lever on my 2000 Mont (and on other bikes i've owned). The problem is i've got small hands hence the lever is closer to the bars than would normally be the case, this results in the clutch dragging. One option I've been thinking of is fitting a new master cylinder with a bigger piston, this would presumably give more movement at the slave for less movement at the master cylinder. Has anyone any thoughts on this?
bikespace
I've often wondered why nobody has developed a lever something like the ones below. I remember this sort of thing from when I was a wee bit younger on BMX's. Really comfy and you can work them with 2 fingers without crushing the other fingers, the ball end would be further from the end of the bar as well, so less likely to break. The ball end could face almost forwards so it doesn't get in the way of the fingers. Maybe they have developed them, but I've not seen them? charliechitlins
I made a clutch lever for my son from a broken one. I cut it just beyond where the index finger would grab it, and put a blob of weld on the end, for safety, and it keeps the finger from slipping off. What this allows you to do is pull the lever right to the grip, so you can start with it closer in. If you can't weld, a blob of epoxy would do. The down side is, if you're getting tired or trying to save some strength on the loop trail, it's almost impossible to use more than one finger. I like them because they're pre-broken and I can't break them again
alan bechard
I run the ARC levers on Dean's (he is 9) because it gives me widely improved adjustability. Right now there is one on his front brake, and when the clutch lever brakes, he will have one on there as well. https://secure.rypusa.com/catpage.cfm?cat_selected=133 Readilly available through RYP. kevin j
les mizell has fitted new pros with Magura clutch master cylinders that are a mm or so larger diameter. Faster action, less drag, but more fore required at the lever. He might have some info for you. kj
