Iwan Roberts looks forward to 2015.
After what has been a sensational year eighteen year old Ffestiniog
engineering student Iwan Roberts has his thoughts firmly set on 2015 and a
programme of selected World, European and British national championship
events. Now into his third year studying Heavy Plant Engineering with John
Roberts of Ffestiniog Haulage and Plant Hire all his motorcycle trials plans
revolve around his studies. As reigning Welsh Trials Champion Iwan is intent
on retaining that title. Nationally the British Solo Championship series is
on his agenda and dates permitting some S3 Parts events. The Scottish Six
Days, Lakes Two Days and Reeth Three Day trials are options. His recent results
of note are second place to established national star Dan Thorpe in the
Northern Experts Trial at Buxton and fifteenth place in the legendary Scott
Trial in North Yorkshire. The one hundred old totally off-road cross country
event is said to be the toughest one day event in the world. The description
is very apt. To complete the course, all eighty miles of it, and win it is a
miracle. Two hundred and four riders left the start at Feldom Range but only
ninety four returned.
