peter_gasgas
Hi there guys (and girls), I have a Montesa 315 of the year 2000, and was wondering if anyone has had a 315 and tried different carbs. The bike runs perfectly, but the usual knocking is there sometimes when i crank the throttle from low revs (i'm told this is normal). My question is: Has anyone tried another carb on the 315r, if so, which one, and how did it go? I have a spare Mikuni carb. Thanks a lot. trialsurfer
I did some experimentation with modifying the stock dellorto with very good success, made a large difference especially in smoothness and eliminated most of the knock. Also revved much cleaner!

jer
I put a Keihin on my 2000 315, it doesn't knock when you open the throttle fast and has more top end.

trialsurfer
It involves extensive machining and fabricating new jets, have made them mainly for my Son for National comp over here and along with a few other mods made a Huge difference in performance (not a novice bike)! Also made a few for certain people over here, but not on the open until this year for selfish reasons! Adrian at lewisport has 2 of them, maybe he can give a review of them! chris
Here is the pic, I hope you dont mind trialsurfer. Looks like it will help with the air flow and maybe add to the venturi effect, in standard form there is a lot of little restrictions to the air flow which can't do it any good. I guessing you have to use smaller pilot jet after you have done this mod. Have you ever thought of trying this kind of thing out http://scaryfastracing.net/pnp-info.html I might try it one day see what difference it makes if any. trialsurfer
That venturi diverter does work, but the blockage is still in the way of the flow.
chris
Have you tried it then the venturi diverter that is, if so are the claims reasonable. I'm using a 28mm keihin pwk at the moment so the bit of blockage may not cause a problem, only one way to find out I suppose.

chris
The divider plate as shown in this link http://scaryfastracing.net/pnp-info.html
