boner
Just looking for some tips about cleaning my Sherco after a muddy ride. I'm slightly concerned about getting water in the carb / airbox whilst washing. Any tips gratefully received. Boner
fivebrick
Bucket of warm water and a couple big car washing sponges is best IMO. Don't use high pressure anywhere near the rad or engine.
tony27
Should be okay to lift the guard & use a strip of duct tape across the top of the airbox opening if you're talking about the older bikes with the tank & airbox in the conventional local Haven't had much to do with the later bikes unfortunately
ham2
Never start it up after you've washed it until you've removed and dried the airbox internally.

copemech
Never start it up after you've washed it until you've removed and dried the airbox internally. And this applies specially to a simple hose wash, as you will dround it! To be safer, pull mudguard and air filter, bung the filter hole with a closed cell foam block. Bung the exhaust outlet. Powerwash the hellofit! Check your mag side cover for trapping water as well. If water gets in and cannot escape, that is not good. Put a 2-3mm drain hole in the bottom of it, it just works! billyt
He said MUD! If you live in AZ, you have never seen mud! If you live in Texas you have never seen mud. Only UK riders know what REAL mud is. Red sticky clay is NOT mud.

rob214
Good name for a Texas rock band “Red Sticky Clay” title track would be "stuck in the red sticky stuff with you" or "i lost my gas gas in the clay pit" since i know a little about texas riders "hold my beer and i'll show you how it's done"(to the tune of devil went down to GA)
