glynn
I have a Gas Gas TXT 125 pro the same as yours but a year older. I use a 50:1 mix which is 100ml to 5 litres. Some people run them more lean at about 80:1 mix and some as high as 30:1 mix. Although everyone has their own preference you will never go wrong with a 50:1 mix... english electric
cheers for the quick reply glynn. will add an extra 20+ mill to the pre mix tomorrow . I had heard that various 2 stroke oil types vary in there ratios when pre mixing any thoughts on the oil or is oil just oil.?? I know in the p200 vespa I ran many moons ago you just dumped the oil in the tank filled up swished it round and off you went. mind you it may explain why it was as reliable as a chocolate fireguard [the vespa] .|||
glynn
Oil shouldnt really make much of a difference, you should use maybe 15-20 more ml when using mineral oil but you are best off sticking with synthetic if you can. Although when I first got my Gas Gas I was running a 50:1 mix with mineral oil (non synthetic) and it done no harm. But really its all down to preference if you use 50:1 or 80:1 etc, some people use low amounts of oil for less smoke, but I would rather be on the safe side. No harm with a little smoke.
