evo boy
Hello all. Wonder if you can help me. I have just Bought a 2014 300 Jotagas after selling my Beta Evo 300. Is there anything you all would recommend me doing as I've been a Beta ride for 15 years and just wanted a change. Thanks
telecat
Depends. The only thing that is a bit of an annoyance is that it can blow out oil though the breather. Usually sorted by putting in a bit less or using the Filler cap/breather. See how it goes. We use Dexron oil in the gearbox as it's a Gas Gas style clutch and it seems to like the same oil. The Frame bolts like the Beta can rattle loose so loctite them in. We have a thicker bash plate but my Son likes rocks and if he misses the standard one is a bit "thin". Some have a head insert to lower the compression but what we have works fine. After that it's down to personal preference and how you ride. Just post any queries and we will see if anybody has come across the problem. Most riders who have tried My Son's bike love the ride and the way it handles. Mods to His bike are, Kehin Carb, Boysen reeds, Ohlins shock with heavier than standard spring, Costa Sump Guard, Big AJP clutch reservoir, Added clearance on the Two "fingers" in the linkage, (it "clicked" on rebound). Only thing that would stop him from buying the Racing? If he tries the TRS or Vertigo with EFI and likes them. He does not think the current crop of bikes are as good at the JGAS. iridebikes
Put wire on radiator cover as they fall out sometimes If you run the rear tyre at a low pressure the tyre rubs on the chain tensioner The rear exhaust bends in on certain one doesn't effect the bike just looks bad
telecat
You can use two tie wraps to hold the guard on. just wrap around the lower section. (so long since I did that one I forgot!!). The Tensioner was changed and later ones do not rub. Exhaust is a new one on me. One definite advantage is that the Plastics are very rugged. huski
Chain tension wants to be 3mm between swing arm and tensioner pad with both wheels off the ground .I like the clutch feel with putoline gp10 oil it works fine on atf as Telecats post just bites a bit quicker There's a few tips on the Jotagas UK website and Steve Saunders is very helpful Love my 250 don't want anything else

telecat
We've run Castrol, Motul and Comma with no Problems I tend towards Dexron III but Dexron II works well.
steve fracy
If you can find it in the UK, we use Amsoil Super shift in the Transmission on our GG's so should also work great in the Jgas
