Question About Mot And Riding On Street

I see posts about you guys in the UK riding your trials bike on the street and the MOT testing.

I find that interesting. So if I lived in UK, I'd occassionally see you guys riding around, standing up, on a bike with no seat, going to work or to the store???

How do the trials tires hold up on the road?

When you come to a stop at an intersection, do you keep your feet up and balance until you get a green light?

Just curious, I wish I could register my bike for the street and ride it!

In the late 70's I used a TL125 for a daily 20 mile commute to work then strip it down and compete at the week end, but trails tyres were dunlop universals or mt43's which didn't wear too badly.

I now try to keep one of the bikes road legal to do a little green laning, twinshocks are not too bad on the road ( my Fantic will cruise at 45mph ) as long as you don't need to go too far.

Around here trials bikes seem to be accepted better on the lanes, I certainly seem to be recieved better than when I have ridden them on a CRM or TTR, I suspect due to the size people find them less threatening.

A Pampera is probably the best compromise.
