teedubbs
Hi, After much deliberation I took the plunge and ordered a new 2015, 250R and paid a 20% holding deposit back at the begining of December 2014 to a local trials specialist. Unfortunately, no bike has materialised and nobody seems to be able to provide a definative answer why or even assure me it will ever turn up. I have tried phoning & e-mailing the factory direct without any joy so I am now assuming the worst. I fear that shared suppliers caught in the GasGas financial melt down are unable to provide key components to Jotagas so they have `closed their doors' until further notice. The supplier has offered to transfer the deposit onto another brand but I really had my heart set on the JGas. I just wondered if there were others in a similar situation or if anyone had further information. Meanwhile, i'm sitting here with fingers crossed and looking at photos of a Scorpa 20 & a 4RT. Regards.
cabby
Well, be prepared for some on here to jump to their defense at the slightest wiff of criticism. I had similar tales back in September/October, it's coming this week, no sorry next week, it'll be here on Wednesday, ooops, sorry transport was held up in Spain, bla bla bla. When a bike finally did arrive, it wasn't what I had ordered, thankfully, I didn't pay any deposit. They, be it jgas or suanders are a nightmare to deal with, but sit aptiently and await gasgaswhatshisname jumping in and defending them, and then slagging me off in the process. steve_earle
I'm sure the Jotagas factory is fine, There may be a delay but it's the dealer that needs a rocket up their backside to keep the customer happy. It's never good to have a customer that has to constantly do the chasing as buyers remorse will soon set in and this situation will arise that doesn't look good for the company. It's not a nice situation for the dealer, I've been there with cars from Japan I've had to keep over 50 customers happy when their cars didn't make the boat and were delayed for an extra 2 months due to problems in Japan. I phoned every customer every week mostly just to say hello and only lost 3 sales from the whole lot.
teedubbs
Thanks GasGas249UK. I'll give you a call later today. Mick, I have tried Saunders and they are unable to offer any reason or even relay details of conversations they may have had with Jgas. The factory line just diverts to some form of voice mail. (By the way, it was the quick spin I had on your machine at Don Barratts and your enthusiasm that sold me on the bike!)
gasgas249uk
Ive been following Jotagas very closely since the very start ......up untill the present day. Im in weekly contact with members of the company . After consideration ...its fair to say i know more about this company and its plans that almost anyone else, but not everything by any degree.I have the plans for the future company direction, figures , photos of planned models , and have seen the very drawings themselves of next years models as they take shape. I get a lot of information . I dont know what they get out of me....it isnt money . I feel somewhat privileged to be trusted like this and as a result I keep my mouth shut as you would given trusted info in confidence. So i apologize if i defend Jotagas ......but its in my heart . The Jotagas story is the most incredible , controversial and rivetting read in Trials you will ever ever come across . But like many great stories it cant be told ....because it will upset people, who are my friends .......so it will remain silent , along with all of the other stories that peeps dont want told .......but cant help telling themselves ha ha . JTG are still making bikes in small numbers but they are a small company . Spares availability isnt a problem as far as im aware . Let me know if you have problems .. and ill help ---- no not sell ......just help . You might find this info helpful There will be an announcement soon

telecat
Looking at the Factory the problem is that they remain a niche marque. They Sell all they can produce leaving them with no leeway if the "wrong" bikes are produced. You see it with all the factories. You order 5 300's 10 250's and a dozen 125's. The order comes off the back of the truck and they have 10 300's 5 250's and a 125. Had that "excuse" a few times when waiting for a bike and with much bigger factories. Yes it is frustrating and given that JGas are small it seems to be amplified by the less frequent deliveries. At least they are still there whereas Gas Gas and Ossa owners are still biting their nails. Edited February 27, 2015 by telecat
jackm
I have a 2014 Jotagas 300, so I spend time looking at various websites for the brand, so I couldn't help noticing that when I search for Jotagas UK i get a link to SXS this takes me to Steve Saunders site but the Jotagas links seem missing? have they gone or just moved? reason is the workshop manual used to be there for download but cant find it now. gasgas249uk
Steve Saunders had worked relentlessly to take JTG forwards for the past few years. Recently though , despite his best efforts he has found it impossible to work with the factory. Its as simple as that. As a result Steve is no longer importing JTG and this position is vacant. He still had his existing stock of spares to sell and will continue to look after his customers , as he has me. It's all change ..... but there's a new opportunity for someone. john.b
So has this just happened today, and does this mean all bike orders are cancelled?

Pity this has dripped out, when the question was pointedly askedI think it poses more questions and should have been announced in the Press That way existing & potential JTG clients would know, rather than hearsay I think the OP has had a lucky escape & now can take his hard earned elsewhere to buy another brand Looks like Sherco/Beta & Montesa/Honda will continue to grow, in this limited marketplace Let's see what happens ?
