boner
Guys, just got my 2011 290 back up and running. She starts on the choke nicely, and idles well off choke. However, I've just tried to pick the idle up a bit on the carb but neither the idle screw nor the air mix screw make any difference to the idle. Any ideas? Thanks Boner
zerorev3rev4
must be a blockage in the carb or jets

boner
Vacuum test done. No problems. Did notice that the air mix screw was weeping, and therefore potentially drawing in air. Any ideas how I could seal / rectify this?
huski
A few turns of plumbers ptfe tape will seal it
0007
It's pretty much impossible for the idle screw to have no effect, it's mechanical and lifts the slide And I have never seen an air screw leak, it's drawing air How would you even know? longlegscanbeuseful
I have seen this before once when trying to tweek a friends carb. He had the throttle cable too tight so that the slide was not sitting on the idle screw. The air/mixture screw was also so badly adjusted that small changes had no effect.
