the addict
I've always put grips on with an airline so nothing lubricates the bars or the inside of the grip and then lockwire the grips in place.
proc
Contact adhesive then grip wire for me
gasthatchgas
Airline and locking wire, did use brake cleaner last time and that evaporated away fine
bisby
I use an aerosol spray paint, slide the grip on and leave to dry and sometimes I wire the grip too.
fivebrick
Hair spray. Squirt a little in the grip, doesn't take much. Slides on, dries and holds well.
nigel dabster
Wire i always think of as back up. Stick on and wire, if it gets damaged or starts to slip in an event wire is the back up.
malcolm
Thanks everybody for your replies. Sorry to be thick but how do you attach the lock wire. Cheers
fastbelly
Yup, get one of these. A tool for life. I use a little spray paint to slide the grip on and then three bands of aircraft lock wire, one at each end and one in the middle. Been doing this for 20 years in enduro and trials, never had a grip come loose once. Even in the wet with the end ripped off.

vonhazza
Hair spray, the cheap stuff is the best as it seems to have more lacquer in it, goes on wet and slippery and sticks when dry, Steve,
