jj65
Section fails at Barcellona WTiC. Busto, Dabill, Karlsson, Ferrer, all failed every section, Fajardo only got through one section and Cabastany two sections. In the final Cabastany and Fajardo failed all but one sections each. I don't want to belittle Bou's (and Raga's) skill and effort, but thats not entertainment or a good championship, when most the riders can't complete a section.
telecat
Planettrial are complaining as well. The whole drive to the rule changes in X Trials and Outdoor Trials were to make it safer and easier. And as I said at the time, if the officials don't sort it out when riders tell them there is a problem, then no matter what rules are run you will lose riders. To be honest in my opinion Jack Challoner's career has been cut short by the inept and arbitrary way they were implemented. He crashed because he was trying to avoid "sumping". I hate the fact that every time you turn up at Sheffield you do not know what the clowns at the FIM have dreamt up for this year.
dmc2028372
It was a bit ridiculous. Raga and bou are just that good but the first 4 riders May has well not bothered and watched from the sides. Don't get me wrong, they are all superb riders, no doubting that. I thought Karlson rode really well, but as has been said even Cabs and Fajaro looked hacked off!
4ourtea
I haven't seen the footage but it does seem daft that the whole Championship has become so farcical. Bou is unstoppable and his loss to Raga was merely a blip - changing the format of the competition (no sumping, mega-tight time limits such that it becomes a race, etc.) is not doing the event any favours and is not going to stop Bou dominating... he is just SO good he will win 99% of the time no matter what format you use. I agree 100% with telecat... It is time to return to a sensible format where all riders have a chance of getting through at least 50-60% of the sections without being timed-out and entertaining the crowd. Crash crash crash is not entertainment. So come on FIM - get your heads out of the clouds (being polite here!!) and put on the sort of championship that is competitive because at the moment it is little more than 2 or 3 blokes doing exhibition stuff with 4 or 5 bystanders.
telecat
Cabastany has some nasty bruises from The X Trial!! Belay that! He got them practicing the previous Thursday. Impressive recovery but I bet he wished he hadn't bothered. Edited March 9, 2015 by telecat
neils on wheels
This can't have been a great advert for out sport can it? How many people at Barcelona would have watched the X-Trial, watched the indoor enduro & thought "trials looks like fun; throwing a bike and my body at a welded metal box before falling off, I think I'll take that up!"?
ross brown
This is a poorly thought out sports strategy- just pushing until Tony Bou becomes injured; and then having to set a different course.

As a "veteran" I just take this series for what it is,as for bringing new riders to the table, well more likely put them off. If you laid out a trial in a similar fashion few would come and no body would come back. Pity, opportunity missed.
telecat
Looking at the last round the guy marking was very sharp when he considered a bash plate to be grounding. I thought the rule was using it to balance. It seemed they just needed to slide it at this round.
