sagsag
I've got a TXT 280 and would like to experiment with the rear shock preload. Have been unable to find the wrenches necessary to adjust the preload rings. Can anyone point me toward a source in the US?
sagsag
Hmmmm. The rings are pretty tight! I tried the hammer and punch method and it looked like it was going to chew up the rings (they're aluminum). I have the shock on the bench now and would prefer to use the correct tools if I can find them.
sagsag
Thanks! I searched for "hook wrench", "shock spanner", and "shock wrench" and came up with a number of sources.
chris
They are the right kind of tool but tend to be to wide for rear shocks I sure you will find something if you search for C spanner on google.
the artist formerly known as ish
Also did you check for the small allen set screw on the ring, it will chew up if it's locked in place, when the set screw is undone you can just about turn them by hand. Update!! looks like Olle have the set screw, Sachs use two rings one as a lock ring, still move easy once you back the bottom ring off. charliechitlins
Like R2 said, grab the ring and he spring together and turn both.
