wright4d
Hi All Anyone using a combination of fly wheel weight and long exhaust front pipe on a 2011 250 Pro? is it worth having both or will it soften it too much? Also what size front sprocket I currently have a 10T Any opinions on the best combination
steve_earle
10T Sprocket I find ideal, It makes 2nd gear the universal section gear unless there's a bit of a hill. I think the long front pipe is the standard length front pipe, The short one gives a slightly sharper pick up, but most will not notice it. No difference worth £200. The flywheel weight will soften the bike slightly off the bottom end but it will make the bike run on when the throttle is shut, In the midrange it can make the bike more of a handfull as when the engine starts spinning it keeps wanting to go. A low compression head insert will do the best job of making the bike softer at the bottom as will fitting a keihin carb if you don't already have one. Thanks for the feedback looks like I'm at the right point
sirdabalot
I prefer the standard 11t sprocket, using 1st in sections with a touch of clutch if needed. I found 10t too low in 1st, resulting in loss of traction on loose surfaces and 2nd too tall. I use a flywheel weight allowing the bike to crawl up hills. I noticed that seems to increase engine braking, but no other drawbacks. The keihin carb made my bike more responsive but smoother. I liked the delorto feeling that it gave more low down grunt but did not rev up as cleanly. The bikes concerned we're 2013 standard, 2014 & 2015 Racing 250s. nigel dabster
2nd gear and you want to soften the bike? Try first gear?
