oldbiker
Seems to be the day for Mar questions.. So, I don't have a key for the steering lock. How do I remove the barrel ? Then, if I do get it out, are replacements available ??

old trials fanatic
Angle grinder ? why would you want a lock anyway ? Comes under the heading of removing all superflous lugs and brackets as far as i can see
oldbiker
Good point, but sometimes I just like to go for a ride on the roads. If I stop for a coffee or visit a friend I would like to be able to lock the bike.
oldbiker
Well, the lock was fairly easy to drill and then tap out. Looks like a generic type used in Bultacos, Vespas and others of the period. Fairly easily available but with a considerable range of prices ! I'm on the case....
2stroke4stroke
I've seen these locks in action and have seen them broken in fewer seconds than I have fingers. Get a decent lock that lets you fasten the bike down to something. Even if the original lock deterred them a group of young scro ill intentioned fellows would lift it away in seconds.
