martyn537
YOU CAN'T BUY DIFFERENT SIZE TAPER BARS YET YOU END UP WITH THEM 1" INCHES HIGHER WITH THOSE ADAPTERS.
nigel dabster
Yep that was the problem with the scorpa yoke they are lower, therefore required a 10mm spacer.
alan bechard
YOU CAN'T BUY DIFFERENT SIZE TAPER BARS YET YOU END UP WITH THEM 1" INCHES HIGHER WITH THOSE ADAPTERS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess just because I am in that type of mood,, http://www.flyracing.com/products/handlebars/handlebars.htm Look at the bend chart tab there on the page that shows several different bends, sweeps, heights, then go find the one that works for your application. Renthal has it, TAG has it, and I am sure if I looked for others they could be found as well. If you must have "Trials Bend" go look at the specs on the trials bars, determine who's you like, and find a set with similar charachteristics. nigel dabster
None are an exact match for standard renthals though?
alan bechard
Never mind,,,, Your right, I give, you can't do it, it is impossible, I can only ride with, (put in your favorite rider here) bars, and without thier bend of bars on my bike, I just cannot perform at my advanced level of riding...... Never mind.
nigel dabster
Its not that alan at all, I have ridden with renthals for 20 years and its what I'm used to, fly MX bars are not close enough.
alan bechard
OK, I will bite, which Renthals have you used? http://www.renthal.com/applications.asp
nigel dabster
4.5" trials, it used to be the only size and I've stuck with it. So if it was 1" higher I would need 3.5", with the bend of renthal trials?
titanium
I put fat bars on my Beta. By using a universal adaptor kit and ProTaper's factory Suzuki bend, they are within a millimeter or two of the stock setup in height, sweep, and width. I really like this setup, and its 8 ounces lighter than stock. (including the adaptors)
the artist formerly known as ish
Lewisport USA, is having some made up by V-mar, to fit the Mont4t and Sherco, they will be black anodized with three increments of lift on the clamp available, 5mm 10mm 15mm, price including clamp will be around $170 US. He showed me the Mont one at the trial this weekend, it if very nice work and top quality. I had some migura fat bars on my 99 sherco, bought a few sets of J. Lampkin has the 88 Techno used to come stock with them. I liked them and will probably buy the new V-mar tripple tree
wayne thais
I have installed the fat bars (Hebo and Tag) three different ways on my Sherco's. Here are the ways: 1. I used a "99" top clamp on an "04" with the Hebo/Tag adapters. 2. I used a Gas Gas top clamp on an "05" again with the Tag adapters. I do not know what gg the clamp came off of. I had to have a spacer made for the steering tube as the Sheco tube is a bit smaller than the gg. 3. On an "02" I machined out the stock Sherco top clamp and used the Hebo top clamp. I used long bolts and had to put them in at a slight angle to make everything fit up nice and tight. If there is a will there is a way. neo
Hey Wayne, Any chance of some more details or a photo of point 3 above? Best of balance. Neo
wayne thais
I hope the pictures come through. Here are pictures of my modified triple clamp, the socket shown is the one that I used to determine the correct diameter to open up the stock clamp.
