laird387
Eboracum Motorcycle Club of York. Round 3 Club championship, Hobb House, Rosedale, Monday. Report by Barry Robinson Eboracum headed for Rosedale for their third championship trial in the heartlands of the much lamented Colonial Trial on Monday. It was a good choice of venue for sixty two competitors who enjoyed the delights of the Kendra family and their enthusiastic course marking team. No easy Bank Holiday riding for the competitors with at least three legacy of the Colonial. Many is the time that riders have hung about at the legendary oak trees to try and guesstimate a winner, and many a Colonial has been won and lost in those final yards. On Sunday the rocky climb at seven punished many, in all classes. All three top experts lost heavy marks but top inter Danny Carne dropped just two marks. Sam Duvivier won the Clubman A by virtue of cleaning the eighth section which was another Colonial legacy. Mark Coulson dropped five in the same section plus eight in the double subbed second and third section. The overall in that class went to Catterick’s Chris laws who had plenty of practice on Saturday at a Yorkshire Centre clubbie. Mark Hardy bossed Clubman B after Nigel Wallis got his Montesa into problems in the deep gully at the fourth. Again it was a ‘Whiskery who’ grabbed the overall when Paul Nelson got his 300 Beta a dab under Hardy and Mark Summer then matched his twelve score to rub salt in the wound. Results.
