mirko91
Hello to everybody, I'm new to trials and I just bought a TXT pro 280 05 and I changed both tyres for fresh brand new xlights. I have no problems with the rear but the front tyre if I run it at 0.5-0.45bar of pressure it just comes off the bead and goes inside the rim for about 15-20cm. If I put some soapy water and pump it up to 4bar it pops on again, so I leave it for a day to set in place but after a couple of rides it goes off again. I did clean the rim etc. Any ideas? Thanks
copemech
Go to a tire shop and lube it up good with some REAL tire lube, then air it up high to sit overnight and try it!
nigel dabster
Often happens.Try to clean everything so its really dry and turning tyre so repositioning the security clamp possible to the bit which "drops" in. It may be that you need to leave it punped up (25psi?) for a week or so then it can take on the shape as it may have been stored squashed. Good luck its usually trial and error tbh.
mirko91
Thanks will try that. I just ordered this stuff https://www.ajsutton.co.uk/product/unbranded/519.17.05/reifenmontagepaste%205kg,%20mont%20seal?uID=0hopefully it will stick the tyre to the rim
baldilocks
I made an error years ago of using duct tape instead of rim tape. It works and means you dont have any problems locating the valve hole in the rim tape when you get a puncture during an event. However the tape wasn't on correctly and in places had gone across the ridge on the rim the tyre sits on. I had the problem you describe until i trimmed the tape. nigel dabster
I always use insulating electricians tape in the well
mirko91
I'm using the proper flap so no issues with that
baldilocks
Yes as long as the proper tape is in the centre of the rim ? By the way is the tube the correct size ?
mirko91
Yep it is straight in the middle..the tube is a 2.75x21 so it's ok. Also the old tyre that was mounted had the exact same issue
baldilocks
Is the rim buckled badly?
axulsuv
A out of round rim will do that , Or a bent rim flange ...
mirko91
The rim us round without any dent at all, that's what gets me
mirko91
I'm new to trials not to bike and mechanics stuff so all is as it should except for the tyre soap that I didn't use
