tad
Hello boys and girls I have few questions about Yamaha ty 250 trial 1974. I have seen this bike in local advertising and I am thinking about buying it. The seller is saying that everything is original but I have no idea so I will post some photos. I hope you can tell me if they really are. How is it with availability of parts? The seller has also said that bike was not running now for few years because of broken gas cabel. Can you tell me how much is this bike worth? Should I pay some extra attention on anything else? I want use this bike for driving around the town. tony27
Apart from the colour which should be 2 tone yellow & white it looks pretty standard. Very easy to get parts for, always seems to be plenty of A model 250s being parted out on US ebay
feetupfun
judging from the photos it looks like you are in the USA or Canada so I'll do my price estimate based on that. It looks to be in reasonable condition but how original it is depends on what you mean by original. It has aftermarket mudguards, seatcover and handlebars and everything else has been painted different colours to the original. The wear on the tyres does not match the odometer figure. Looks like a home-made fibreglass bashplate, but hard to tell. Original is fibreglass but thinner and neater-looking. If it was Australia, $1500. Being North America I would say $800 to $1000. The spacing between the gears is terrible for riding around town
feetupfun
Often when one of them has had the tank repainted, there has been filler used. Also have a look inside the fuel tank for rust
