malcolm
My son has a 2013 evo 125. What is the easiest way to increase power output and what gains can he expect. Cheers.
slicktop
A thinner base gasket would give a bump in compression. A race clutch would transfer power quickly.
peterh
Boyesen Reeds. I used the dual stage power reeds to good effect on a 2010 evo 125 and also 2012 evo 200. Search these forums for others experiences. Did need to do some rejetting to optimise.
malcolm
Thanks guys, do these changes require a different exhaust or is the standard one sufficient.
slicktop
as far as I know the only exhaust upgrade Beta offers is titanium.
slicktop
I haven't looked it up but you may be able to swap out to a 200 jug. Others may be able to confirm or deny. What kind of gains are you looking for? It could be that you would appreciate a bigger bike.
malcolm
Thanks slicktop, I really want to keep the bike as a 125. My son is 15 so can't ride anything bigger in competitions - unless I have been incorrectly informed.

malcolm
It seems to be low revs torque and power he wants improved.
peterh
It seems to be low revs torque and power he wants improved. Just what boyesen dual stage reeds will do. That was my experience. Much improved low down torque and crispness from idle. But did require changing jets and needle with it. The bike ran well before i put in the boyesens, but the reeds added to enjoyment. goudrons
S3 do head insert that will raise the compression. Fiddling with base gasket thickness will alter when the piston uncovers the ports. They also do a front pipe with an insert that is meant to improve torque. What sort of gains you'd get I don't know, I'd be more worried pre ignition caused by raising the compression and about what (and where) the losses come from! Generally, you get nowt for nowt, a gain here quite often results in a loss somewhere else.

bigowl
This is a good thread. I have just got some boyeson reeds. I haven't fitted them yet. I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on jets, are there different jets or just new jets. (I'm pretty new to this) I assume my Rev 3 250 has the standard ones in the mikuni Please can someone make a suggestion based on their successes Many thanks.
