Old But New

Back after a 5 year break.

Had to sell my monty to fund a new van after my old one died in the snow.

Got a bit sidetracked racing kite buggies down the beach for a.few years. Moved back to the UK after 8 long years on Jersey and finally bought another trials bike.

Well. Actually bought a push trials bike to get fit and ready then got impatient and picked my sherco up last week.

Waiting on helmet boots and club membership then I'm good to roll.

Just need to get my old account opened up again now. The system won't send me a password reset. Possibly due to a Hotmail address? Can a mod help?

Managed to find the time to adjust the bike setup to suit and have a little Play around the garden. It's not big and stuffed full of kids toys for an added challenge. Kept my feet up. Steering with my feet came naturally though track standing before a tight turn and inside peg pressure as I let the clutch out felt a little odd. Boots and helmet arrived as well as my club membership. Everything looks good for a proper play this coming weekend. :)

Looking forward to testing out Milton Buzzards newish playground.

Got my first proper go today.. Very impressed with both Milton Buzzards practice ground and my Bike. Was a bit worried the sherco 125 would seem a little underpowered after my previous 250 315 But not the case. Plenty of poke to lug me up and over.

Had my confidence with logs and rocks after a mishap in a log and mud covered stream a few years ago now. Thankfully I seem to have got over that and managed a few perfect double blips over a few rocks and logs.

Looking forward to meeting other club members next time I'm ouT can't make tomorrow's trial unfortunatel .

  • 4 weeks later...

Made it to my first trial Friday evening.

Had a very tiring and stressful week at work and wasn't very focused to start wit .

5 sections 4 laps forward 4 laps in reverse.. I managed to clear every section at least once and took 5 5s 2 due to navigation issues lol and 3 on steep uphill to downhill turns.. spent too many years on push bikes and forgetting rear brake is on my foot. Hence I washed the front end out a few times.

Some silly mistakes but learnt a lot and gonna do better this Friday if I can make it. 48 points total.

Hardest part for me was working out the sections.
