gasserguy
Must be the worst promoted event of the year! Hardly a bit of info anywhere!
kwackerdave1
It's seems a strange date too run. The centre I am in are not sending teams. It requires traveling on Friday when the youths are still at school. Adults have a teacher so it's a no go.
baldilocks
Not sure who picks the date but you may have noticed that since the btc started there has been a national or world round or btc round virtually every weekend. Trials is in decline until you try and find a free date in the calendar....
baldilocks
Not being flippant but what do you want to promote? As i understand it each centre receives entry forms and they pick who represents them and sends the entries in. So little point advertising to any other riders as you can't ride unless you are picked by people who have been contacted directly by the organisers ? Outside of the NE centre how many people are going to miss their local trial to drive x hours to watch the inter centre ? So perhaps its been promoted to the right people directly which isn't going to be that many on this forum?

As a rider the first entry list i seen was on the day of the event. Surely you have to at least promote the event to the people that are attending. Ive ridden local trials advertised better, and with what turned out to be an impressive entry list deserved a lot more. ""Outside of the NE centre how many people are going to miss their local trial to drive x hours to watch the inter centre ?"" Thats a question nobody can answer, but if you dont advertise it then it is extremely easy to answer, NONE! baldilocks
Im not the organiser of this event but you seem to be saying it wasn't promoted to people who had already entered ? And there wasn't much litter to pick up after the event
faussy
I am saying that, yes, isnt that a necessity? If a rider doesnt receive any promotion, how is a non rider/spectator supposed to? Its nice to know who you will be competing against and nicer still when potential spectators ask you who is riding and you can name someone outside of your own team. Surely a majority of the entries were received a long time before the event. Is that sarcasm or a potential benefit of a low number of spectators? colin008
I've haven't been into trials very long, yet I did see it listed in the "What's on section" of this website but I had no idea what it was or who was riding, until I viewed the results. I've never seen trials outfits, and I was amazed to see the top UK riders had been in action only 50 miles from me. I wish I had known more about it... I guess it will be in a different county next year!

It was a well enough organised event i have to say, it just seemed the advertisement and buildup let it down somewhat.
